Beefeaters - Let me down easy

The danish supergroup Beefeaters had a interesting movement from the traditional music scene of the mid 60's more relaxed established sound and into a more raw and original bluesy sound, with focus on Peter Thorups strong vocal impression replacing Søren Seirup that left for another famous danish Prog-rock group Steppeulvene. This sing is offcourse the original Blues-tune interpretated by amongst others, johnny cash, spencer davis group, betty lavette, the list goes on..

the track is lifted from the Album "Soul in"

Rainbow Band / Midnight Sun

Wonderfull group of danish musician, had to change name to Midnight Sun after lawsuit from canadian band releasing thir first album again under the new name, where they would create very different kinds of danish rock from - progressive to soul, instrumental focus to plain pop.. interesting shift in musicians making with a history of jazz, country and rock.
this is there crazy divers and challenging composition that got me interested into old danish prog-rock, and showed me the quality of the danish music scene in the late 1960's

Kim Larsen - Donnez-Moi Du Feu

Alltime good danish singer - world famous In denmark as lead singer of rock n roll band. Gasolin, and long time solo artist. here is is his first attempt to make a breakthrough n the US with high quality production by keyboardist Joe Delia - and all through well produced 80's rock album with a funky twist - along with his combo Jungle dreams this is the best and most serious attempt to do something new and fresh in a weird style of rock/pop/funk/disco - album-wise a bummer with no big sells.. from the album Jungle Dreams from 1981 here comes:

Finn Savery Trio - Showers

From the album Waveform from 1978 comes the groovy and funky gem of a classic pianist on the wurlitzer. The sound is tight and the drums are full of hard leather and short hat, fretless bass from virtous genius Mads vinding, a very talented musician, for long time in the shadow of N.H.Ø.P - RIP
in all a album full of different sound landscapes, - check out the openning track: Travelling Riff - by Savery himself and the nice Airto-cover - b side - Misturada.
and please enjoy the chase of nice breaks high tempo clashing(0:45) in Showers by Vinding.

Paravion - Udsolgt (Sold out)

its danish - neither rock, punk, new wave but according to themselves No Wave!
dating back to 1984 a time of danish pop's golden age, with a lot of clean and tight proffesional music recording, this band seemed trashy, dark and not at least new!
check out the nice cover by Jette arendahl Winther!
the song is written by Berggren/Winther

if you come across their album called pære(paer) plz check it out! its full of nice uptempo tunes, danish prog-rock anno 1981 - stomping beats, nice guitar riffs and tight drums!!
